Printing guide and questions
Most sets print in under a minute. This page covers the few things that trip people up.
Printing at home
Open a set, choose your options and press Print this set. You can download a PDF or print straight from the browser. The PDF is made on your device; nothing is uploaded. Any home or school printer works.
In the print dialog, choose "Actual size" or 100% scale rather than "Fit to page", so the cards come out the size shown on screen.
Paper sizes
Sheets are laid out for US Letter and A4. The site picks one from your browser's language and you can change it in the print dialog. Margins are 0.4 in (10 mm) all round, which every home printer can manage.

Word on the back
Turn on "Word on the back" in the print dialog to get a second sheet for every front sheet. The words are mirrored so they line up when the paper is flipped on its long edge.
If your printer asks, choose "Flip on long edge" (sometimes called "Long-edge binding"). If you print one side at a time, put the printed sheet back with the top edge in the same place and the printed side facing the way your printer expects. Print one sheet first to check.
Saving ink
The Ink saver option removes all color fills and keeps only outlines, text and pictures. The Cloud theme is a white card with no tint. Draft mode in your printer settings saves more.
Cutting and keeping
Cut along the dashed lines. A paper trimmer is faster than scissors for a whole class. Card stock of 160 to 200 gsm lasts longer; lamination lasts for years. Cards are straight-edged on paper; round the corners with a punch if small hands will use them a lot.
Card languages
On every set page, the Card language control switches the labels. Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese and Korean also offer a reading aid (pinyin, jyutping, romaji or Korean romanization), on its own or under the native script. Mandarin can be printed in Simplified or Traditional characters. Your choice is remembered on this device.
Every label can be edited in the builder, and you can add a second language to each card.
Questions
Is it really free?
Yes. Sets, builder, games, guides and audio codes are free with no account. Supporters pay for things that need a server.
Can I use the cards in my school or sell them?
Print and share as many copies as you like for your classroom, home or tutoring. Please do not sell the printed cards or redistribute the picture files. See the terms.
The QR code does nothing
The code opens a small page that plays the word. Most phone cameras read it directly; older phones need a QR app. Audio for every word is being added set by set.
A word or picture is wrong
Use Report a mistake. Tell us the set, the card and the language, and we will fix it in the next release.

Safari opens the PDF in a new tab. Use the Share button, then "Save to Files" or "Print".
