What you need

Tiles that pair a picture on one half with the next word on the other, in one chain that closes.

In the classroom

• Deal the tiles. Players take turns adding a tile that matches the picture or word at either end.
• Say the word out loud as each tile goes down.

At home

• Start the chain together and see how fast you can close it.

On your own

• Lay the whole chain alone, reading each word as you match it.

Tips

• Sets of 10 to 16 cards make a chain that fits on a table.
